agenda Enterprise and Meeting Self Check-In Purchased By Breckland Council

Sitting on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk, Breckland’s 500 square miles of countryside perfectly capture rural life in England. Their local government, Breckland Council, oversee the charming villages and market towns that over 138,000 people call home (ONS 2017) alongside awe-inspiring sites including Brandon Country Park.

With the goal of modernising how residents and visitors interact with council services, Breckland Council have purchased Agenda Enterprise and their own bespoke Meeting Check-In system for their offices.

agenda in Breckland

Breckland Council have purchased Agenda Enterprise with the intention of making a number of new services available for online appointment booking. Working in collaboration with Stopford, appointment booking will be enabled for Housing, Council Tax, Licensing and Benefits.

Adding to Breckland’s current portfolio of online services, the option of booking an appointment with customer service staff is designed to support residents who prefer engaging with their public services face-to-face. During these appointments, users will be able to make enquiries, payments and complete forms that will help them progress toward their objectives, supplementing existing ‘online only’ options.

With these options enabled, Breckland Council will have access to a number of new benefits including:

  • Reduced interaction costs through the channel shift away from telephone and face-to-face bookings (GOV.UK, 2012).
  • Greater time efficiency through automated options including online payment and reminders.
  • Greater organisation using the responsive electronic diary system.

Meeting Self Check-In at Breckland

Breckland Council have also enlisted Stopford to design and create a new, bespoke Meeting Self Check-In system to assist their reception staff. External visitors attending offices for events such as business meetings will be able to check-in to pre-booked meetings by using a mounted tablet within reception.

By inputting their details, visitors will be able to confirm their arrival to their meeting’s organiser and be able to proceed to the waiting area before collection prior to their allotted time. In future iterations of the system, Stopford will work closely with the local authority to integrate a badge printer within the system, enabling groups of visitors to be easily identified prior to their meeting.

The Meeting Self Check-In application will aim to overall streamline the existing check-in process at busy offices/contact centres, reducing pressure on the main reception desk, saving staff time and tracking the status of visitors throughout their journey.
