Stopford create a free out-of-the-box, quick to deploy, appointment system designed to assist registration services manage their telephone death registrations throughout COVID-19.
Following the introduction of new COVID-19 legislation, register offices have had to adapt to protect staff and customers while ensuring service resumes. In order to best support registration services across the UK as they look to provide telephone appointments, Stopford have created a free out-of-the-box version of agenda for registrars tailored for accepting and managing telephone bookings.
In response to the guidance issued by the General Register Office, the user journey for registering a death has been updated to ask all essential questions and signpost critical information for those registering to assist them during their call. This includes the addition of Funeral Directors as a potential informant, considerations for those who may require an interpreter and more.
We have also worked alongside service leaders from across a range of authorities to create a streamlined back-end of the system to make telephone appointments easier to conduct for registrars. This includes giving staff easier access to relevant details they will refer to during the appointment and the addition of a number of new pre-prepared communication templates for the appointment type.
Stopford’s Managing Director, Paul McCloskey, had this to say:
“Registrars are under an incredible amount of pressure right now and I think it’s important to do our bit wherever possible. We’re proud to have managed to deliver a number of systems in such a short space of time and assist registration services in adapting to the big changes they’ve experienced.”
Stopford will be rolling out additional functionality to the system in the coming weeks through a number of phases, adding to the existing functions released in phase 1 to best assist all registration services at this difficult time.
